I would have to agree that we are in a new age of art, and as we embrace technology, we will discover an unlimited way to teach art, create art, and how the world see our art. The article talks about a artist in New York, Erick Sanchez, and how he used:
Kickstarter
Sony Vegas video editing software
WordPress
InDesign
YouTube
Eventbrite
Artfuse
All to help fund and create is own art show!
I think about all that I've done in Cyberped thus far....Create this blog, create a website on www.wix.com, work with Prezi, work with GarageBand, and soon work with IMovie. All of these, useful tools to assist us as educators, and artists.
I ultimately think that technology is just something that we all just have to be willing to embrace, or we may find ourselves left behind. What do you think?
awesome article showing the reach and power of just knowing the right technological tools to help you achieve your goals. as we embrace technology, we learn more and more about when and where are the right times to use it. it's not always going to be the right fit for every situation, but it sure can make things easier.
ReplyDeletea side note, chicago artists had a creative solution to the need to exhibit, but the difficulty of finding gallery representation. apartment galleries sprang up all over the city, using living space or underutilized spaces as emphemeral gallery space. and they'd often use evites, eventbrites, or other means to promote their shows.
Artists are still looking to individuals and institutions to patronize their work - but with technology we can do it more quickly and all across the globe with one click. But, technology also allows the artists to direct our destiny more as an individual as well.
